Two Friends show that they are the living epitome of the club scene.
If ever a band were to embody the soul of clubs and the spirit of parties, it’s got to be Two Friends. The outfit seems to be on a hit streak at the moment, with previous remix of Tove Lo’s Cool Girl being an unstoppable EDM offering that closed 2016 on a solid note.
Well, Two Friends has done it again with new single Pacific Coast Highway, a collaborative output with MAX that combines dance-pop flavoured synth hooks with a sun-kissed vocal that is made for summer parties. The track has an unusually Years & Years feel to it, but with a more organic feel to it. In many ways, this is one of the band’s most natural sounding singles – it’s naturally fun, instinctively addictive and uses traditional instrumentation – such as a string-led main hook – wonderfully.
Pacific Coast Highway is a track that has dropped at just the right time to build a lot of momentum in the run up to the sunnier months. Which makes sense, because it’ll be difficult to find a song more deserving of the ‘definitive summer soundtrack’ title.
