I feel like I resonate with Calum Foad’s latest single ‘MeMeMe’ on a spiritual level. It’s a scathing attack and critical review of the modern age and social media obsessiveness.
It’s a fun little light indie-pop stab at an individual representative of the modern, selfie-obsessed screenager generation. With so many specific pop culture allusions, ‘MeMeMe’ is never going to be a timeless hit. Which is a shame, really, because it’s got a pretty nice tune.
The video is pretty straightforward, full of the hallmarks of the instageneration. Whether this is ironic or unintentional, it still works well.
