Psych-rockers drop brand new sweet single.
Ever wondered what it would sound like if an artist only made music in a dark room with no light to be seen? Wonder no more, because The Boxing does just that.
However, the outfit’s recent psych-soaked singleĀ Tame is an example in what happens when some light happens to pour into the mix. Big, brooding and powerful, the track is very much in the vein of previous single One By One, but with a lighter undertone.
Traditionally conjurers of dark tones and brooding soundscapes, The Boxing embrace the kaleidoscopic potential of their psychedelic flourishes with Tame. Lead singer and guitarist Harrison Warke cites a change in composition setting for the tonal shift, stating “Most of our songs are written in a dark room without windows, but a hint of light managed to creep into this one. There’s a bit of sweet among the usual sour.”
