Marsicans hit all the right notes with new single too good.
Sometimes indie music just serves to complicate itself. A few years ago, uplifting indie tracks were the object of any indie musician’s desire. Now, bands seemingly prefer the darker, brooding tones and dirtiness – not a problem, but too few artists opt for the no-worries uplifting feel of simple indie-pop.
Thankfully, Marsicans understands the importance of the simple indie-pop singalong anthem and new single Too Good fits the bill perfectly. With a sound that feels like a perfect homage to the mindlessly fun indie of 2011, the track combines synth flourishes with a chugging drum section and soaring guitar lines.
It hits the sweet spot of indie instrumentation and, when combined with the deeper tones and melodies of the vocals, is the perfect track to see off the summer.
