Alt-rock outfit’s new single is a cascading singalong of blistering intensity.
Every once in a while, a band comes along that brings the spirit of Punk back to life for a new generation. Since it’s been a little too long since someone made the genre interesting, it’s probably safe to say that Pleasure House is the latest outfit to make music interesting again with latest single Calm.
Characterised by brutal drum sections, intense guitar lines and a vocal that oozes with fast-paced disillusionment, Calm is punk in a very traditional sense. With that said, the guitarwork on the track is infinitely more impressive and the band has an innate musical talent that seeps through with every note and nuance of melody. There’s more going on in the track that there is in your typical balls-to-the-wall rock stomper, but the ironically titled Calm is just as powerful and chaotic.
