A passionate flurry of aggressive alt-rock.
It’s been a while since we last heard from Moats, which is a shame because we’ve been fans of the band for a long time. Fortunately, they’re back with a passionate vengeance on new single Hungry.
In a way, the comeback track feels like Frank Carter with indie guitars. The aggression and the brutality of some of the vocal (though it must be noted that they maintain a strong sense of melody while doing so) is equally suited for both gently dark alt-rock and avalanches of pounding hardcore. But the backdrop in this instance is more of the former, with cascading guitars and guitars that pack more of an aggressive flick to the ear than a punch to the face.
But don’t let that put you off, this track is the most intense indie/alternative track you’ll hear this week. Passionate, powerful, and the greatest possible comeback for a great band.
