A deep shade of desert-rock, tinged with Post-Grunge
For fans of: Queens Of The Stone Age; Nirvana; The Doors
Wigan rockers Deepshade have not only just dropped their free download debut single ‘Tattoo’, but have also the music video – starring alternative model Jasmine Barnett.
‘Tattoo’ rides forward on a choppy guitar riff and a solid heavy bass groove, immediately drawing comparisons to Queens Of The Stone Age. The vocals are also very Josh Homme-y, so fans of QOTSA are set on this track.
But there’s more to it than just another QOTSA clone; deeply engrained sounds that span from Post-Grunge power to psychedelic sounds. There’s more on offer than one listen could identify.
The video itself is interesting too. While it stars Jasmine Barnett, her role in the video isn’t especially the main talking point – that would be the strange contrast between her parts in the video, and that of a male counterpart impersonator who fills the chorus spaces. It’s more than a bit weird.
