The Slow Readers Club – ‘Don’t Mind’ Review

The Slow Readers Club are back and ready to hook you with some mesmerizing guitar work on new single ‘Don’t Mind’.

The track swells slowly into being with a repetitive guitar hook, and a sombre vocal line with distinctly-melancholy lyrics that echo the emotive ‘I Know It’s Over’ by The Smiths. By the time the chorus kicks in with its simple but effective lyrics, you’ll be too mesmerised by the rich hypnotic melodies to notice the passing of time any more.

The song feels like it lasts for an eternity, in only the best way. You find yourself consumed by the instrumentation and vocals, swirling in a musical space where – if you set the song to repeat – it becomes impossible to tell how much time has passed. It’s hypnotically relaxing, taking you to a place where audio is all that matters.

The Slow Readers Club took us to a beautiful place, one that we don’t wish to leave.
