Kagoule gave a rousing performance of ‘Glue’ at Glastonbury last weekend, blending a feeling of detached tranquility with a muscular energy that was almost Nirvana-like in its volatility. And that chorus hook is straight out of the Graham Coxon book of guitar riffery, circa 1992’s ‘Modern Life Is Rubbish’.
It begins unassumingly, but it grows to something with so much potential that it’s sad that Kagoule didn’t exploit this energy further. Hopefully Kagoule will make a return to Worthy Farm next year, to build upon performances like this.
