Leon of Athens has just dropped the video to his latest single, ‘Baby Asteroid’. It’s a celestial indie-pop anthem that shimmers with melody and harmony.
Right from the first notes, ‘Baby Asteroid’ is upbeat and enjoyable. It opens with a smooth synth explosion that evolves into a hopeful anthem that rings of The Killers and, oddly, of MGMT. It’s got a weird vibe that’s hard to pin down in comparisons. Imagine every indie band you’ve ever loved, and you probably won’t be too surprised by this track.
The video matches the celestial sounds with a space-oriented video. Which fits, really, given the title of the song. But it’s really fulfilling to watch the video make a practical use of the song title and give it a brand new meaning that legitimately makes complete sense. There’s just something oddly satisfying about it.
