It’s as weird and wonderful as it sounds.
Four guys making yacht punk by the canals of Amsterdam sounds like a recipe for beautifully chaotic brilliance. That’s exactly what St.Tropez offers us, and the outfit’s latest single Down is one of the band’s most visceral cuts to date.
Seen by the band as “both a chaotic ode and a political indictment to destruction”, pummelling drums usher in a bracing riff, before the group’s trademark groove and ear for a chorus takes over. All of this is accompanied by an ominous visual component – one elongated, weirdly cinematic greyscale shot.
What, were you expecting something normal?
