Sad Palace releases music video for Melody Crux.
Simple shapes and strong colours are very much the calling card of the modern music hipster and, as such, it’s right that they are served up as the centrepiece of Sad Palace‘s latest music video, for Melody Crux.
Brimful of grooving attitude, the single is a continuation of the icy pop Sad Palace have already made their name with, just three sharp releases into their career. Fizzing organs and piercing alt.rock guitars sit atop jazzy breaks, delivered seamlessly by the rhythm section, whilst imperious vocals deliver commanding hooks, breaking at times into infectious falsetto.
If the track is channelling late night vibes, there’s a very good reason why. According to the band, “most of the lyrics were written on a night out, sometimes you go out partying for the night when you really shouldn’t. It’s a weird feeling, being out dancing and drinking, and then realising you’re just not in the mood. The music stays really upbeat as the words slowly deteriorate with the night, because the night doesn’t care about your feelings, it goes on anyway”.
