The outfit’s new single If You Have To Leave is your typical indie track, with the standard dynamic shifts, the singalong chorus and an abundance of similes. The track vocally feels like a softer take on The Subways, but with guitars simmering underneath that reflect the same level of intensity and angst.

Skellums is an outfit with little to prove, little willingness to actively do so and a lot of talent that bridges the gap between those two factors. If You Have To Leave is simple, straightforward and infectiously effective.
