Dreams2Beats gives zhu a bass-heavy rework.

Reworking is an underappreciated artform. Too few artists dare to venture into the middleground between remixing and originals for the method to truly get the recognition and respect it deserves.

Which is a shame, because it produces some incredible material. Take Dreams2Beats, for example, whose latest reworking – of ZHU‘s Faded – is one of the best experimental bass tracks to drop in a while. It’s lumbering, full of feeling and packed full of bone-rattling bass.

The track is chilled out to perfection, which is good news for the post-club playlists, and really highlights D2B’s ability as an artist. Not every musician could effectively take an uptempo electronic track and turn it into a mellow, 4am bass hit.
