New electrodance remix is a bright ray of electronic sunshine.
People often debate when summer officially begins. Some argue that it starts the moment the weather begins to improve at the middle of June, while others will fiercely claim that it begins on the Summer equinox (June 21). For us, summer doesn’t really start until there’s a song around to define it. And by that logic, Christofi has just kickstarted the season with his new remix of StéLouse‘s Been So Long.
With its sun-kissed beats and joyous vocal sample hooks, Christofi uses his natural sense of pop rhythm to bring out the dance potential that the track always had. Where the original lumbered along at a steady pace, this version has sped up the tempo to make it more immediate and urgent. This, mixed with some big pre-choral drops and expert manipulation of the track’s original hook melody, creates a song that is ready for repeat plays through the imminent summer nights.
