Listen: Good feelings and good times from Shakes

Indie outfit drops feelgood new single.

If there is a song around that inspires as good a feeling as Shakes‘ latest offering Waiting on a Feeling, we haven’t heard it.

While the track draws from places of subtle sadness, it is a perfect case in point that sad topics don’t have to be melancholy. As the band sings of its objects of affection being in someone else’s arms, or its desires being out of reach, the mood remains chipper and upbeat. This pretty much entirely comes down to the shuffling rhythms, danceable bass groove and the very Bee Gees/Jungle vibe that the vocal styling has going on. If the sounds don’t put a smile on your face, nothing will.
