Neo-soul songstress Iman has just dropped her new single Naive, a ballad of epic proportions that builds on the success she achieved with debut single Golden.

It’s an unusual thing for a new artist to attempt to pen a ballad. Then again, having collaborated with acts like Ed Sheeran and Rudimental, Iman is not your typical new artist. The outcome of this leap of faith is a track that blends soulful balladry with sophisticated RnB beats, while subtle hints of electropop bubble under the surface and swirl in the background. It’s an amalgamation of styles that manages to gracefully indebt itself strongly to one in particular — avoiding the risks of the song sounded crowded with influences.

Iman is on a roll so far, so her third single has some pretty big expectations on it already. No pressure.
