Indie rockers explode with a new and heavier sound.
It’s been a while since we last heard from indie-rockers Parisian Youth Culture. In fact, it’s been over a year since they graced our ears with indie anthem Basement.
Fortunately for us, they’re back. The band have just dropped their latest single Out of Hiding, an alternative-leaning stomper of choppy guitars and empassioned intensity that bears little resemblance to the sound of songs past. This isn’t a bad thing though — the new sound fits PYC like a studded glove, packing more of a punch and thus making more of an impact. Particularly since it’s not just an embracing of a heavier tonality in a generic sense, featuring an electronic-cum-funk whirring that underpins the explosive chorus.
The sound might have changed but it’s still the same band that can craft amazing tracks that beg (or even demand) to be played repeatedly and sung along with.
