It's pretty hard not to fall in love with The New Coast's newest single.
It’s a nice mix of crushing rhythms that ricochet off of solid grooves to create a feeling of rising and falling momentum, with equally bouncy vocals ensuring that not a bone is left unmoved. It’s got the kind of impact and sound of something from Bastille’s Bad Blood, with feel-good vibes permeating the farthest reaches of the expansive soundscape. But most interestingly, it’s a real stripped back approach to indie. When you think indie, you think that guitar sound. But here it’s all in the drums – take them away or change them and the whole song morphs completely into something much less enjoyable.
