Little late to the party but it’s still just as good to catch it now! Calling Apollo dropped their video for ‘Monsters’ at the start of August, and it’s a nice spin on the “performance to camera” piece.

The track itself is an intense alt-rock hard-hitter that rings of Slaves and (especially) At The Drive In, showing a perfect mastery of dynamic shifts to make the chorus as explosive as possible. Like a more badass ‘One-Armed Scissor’.

The video uses colour exceptionally, using changes to make the standard performance piece a little more visually engaging for viewers. Still manages to catch the intensity of the track perfectly though.
