High Safari’s ‘Find Your Way Back’ is a look at the hallmarks of indie pop, all conveniently compiled into one three minute track for you to enjoy.

In a sense, it’s like going on safari to listen to indie pop in its natural habitat. On one side of you, you’ll notice the tinge of 60’s flower power guitars offering a sunkissed catchiness laced with intricacy. On the other side, you’ll find simmering vocals that are delivered in a mellow tone – of course, the indie trademark of the last decade. From whichever side you enter or whichever aspect you admire most, you’ll find your way back to where you started.

This is to the credit of High Safari. Wide ranges of influences, even if they are within the same genre, can sometimes make for a track that sounds too busy or too diversified. ‘Find Your Way Back’ sounds breezy and fun from start to finish, and doesn’t lose itself in the safari of indie.
