Mar – ‘Not Like Here’ Review: Cosmic Future R&B Craziness

Honestly, nothing will catch your ears in the same way this month as Mar’s ‘Not Like Here’. It’s a fantastic voyage into a bizarre stretch of music that stretches the boundaries of Future R&B to a strange space that is shaped by cosmic synths and heavy bass sections.

Cut in with the mix is some pitch-shifted vocals (pretty much the signature of Future R&B anyway) and some sturdy synth lines that cut through like a laser, and ‘Not Like Here’ becomes massive. Even the frailty and depth of the verse lyrics can’t make this anything other than a mindlessly good time.

Crazy. You woke up this morning and you had no idea this existed and now you can’t stop listening, right? As always, you’re welcome.
