Youth Man – ‘Joy’ Review

Don’t let the Disco 2000-throwback mini-instrumentals at the start fool you, Youth Man’s new track ‘Joy’ is the type of white-hot angst track that would steam Jarvis Cocker’s glasses right up.

Once the vocals come in, you know you’re in for two and a half minutes of punk intensity. Youth Man pull it off again with a track that throws out the ‘quiet verse, loud chorus’ approach in favour of doing the exact opposite for the most part. The last chorus however? Explosive. Violently explosive.

And from there the song trails off into a monstrous instrumental jam that is made for complete anarchy and moshpits. But below, you can listen to the track for yourself. Because ‘Joy’ is a track that words cannot, and will not, do justice.
