The bass artist’s luck clearly hasn’t run out; his latest EP is still full of dark bass charm.
UK bass artist Thelem hasn’t been short of support for his dark style of production over the years. He proves his worth once again with a new EP titled Third Time Lucky, which showcases four unheard tracks and plenty of banging ideas.
The swaggering, stuttering title track makes for a resounding introduction with its rhythmical yet hazy basslines and warped melodies. Dusted featuring Onhell is murky from start to finish with those twisted samples, before Tuck It is a drum-laden foray into a pacier tempo – with lots of cascading riffs. Lights Out makes for a suitably edgy closer with intensely building repeated loops, low-end thuds and shattering energy.
