Electronic act takes its hypnotic sound to a new level.
Stalgia is an act that can be easily described as hypnotic, with a core element of the outfit’s sound being the generally slow pacing and the soft-spoken sensuality of the vocals. Even with more uptempo tracks, like BDY, there’s a sense of hypnotism.
Well, that has just been amped up in new single Spirit Animal. Inspired by a lullaby sung to vocalist Lauren Day as a child, the track is understandably mellow in tone and slow in pace. Yet this isn’t to say that the song isn’t packed with the usual RnB passion or flair the band possesses; the beat is subtly intense, the irregular timings and the seductive vocal deliveries certainly make this feel like a song you probably wouldn’t sing to your children.
