Listen// Become a fool for LOUUD

Debut single from Swedish act is a show-stopping bitter pop-rock hit.

LOUUD's debut single Fools - review

Swedish act LOUUD (aka vocalist Louise Udin) has only just released its debut single, Fools, but is already proving to be on the right path to stardom. Sure, following in the footsteps of acts like Robyn and Tove Lo by being an alumni of Sweden’s Rytmus Musikgymnasiet (a prestigious music school) helps, but there is no substitute for LOUUD’s quality.

Inspired by the emotional struggles of leaving an on-off relationship, Fools is quite a lyrically heavy track. This is a risky decision, as such a lyrical burden could prove to be the undoing of many new artists. Fortunately, Udin’s delicately smooth vocal manages to handle the emotion well and twists it into memorable melodies. This is all atop atmospheric guitars and an insistent drum beat that creates a perfect bed of pop-rock for even the most anti-pop listener to enjoy.
