Listen: Elohim spaces out with new single

Producer’s latest single is a five-minute trip into electronic anarchy.

Elohim enjoyed a meteoric rise to popularity in 2016, with her brand of electronic-infused pop making her one of the fastest rising producers of the year. Seemingly, that popularity has had an impact on Elohim as she has just released arguably her most intensely trippy and unconventional track to date, Skinny Legs.

Throwing electronic sounds into a maelstrom somewhere between psychedelic haziness and intense drum and bass, Skinny Legs is immediately distinct from anything Elohim has offered up before. In many ways, this feels like a kick back against much of the positive reception the artist has received over the past year. As opposed to going for another easily digestible, electropop hit, Elohim has instead opted for something a little more expressive and substantially more challenging. It’s a powerful experience, but one that does raise questions about where Elohim will take her music from here.
