Marshmallow punk

The Regrettes bring punk-pop spirit to Christmas classic.

Marshmallow World is one of those often overlooked classic Christmas songs that don’t get the festive respect they deserve, such as The Waitresses’ Christmas Wrapping, The Ramones’ Merry Christmas and Rage Against The Machine’s Killing In The Name Of.

Likewise, punk-pop isn’t traditionally the genre of choice for most Christmas songs. Fortunately, The Regrettes have addressed both of these issues with their latest festive treat. The outfit’s cover of Marshmallow World is an energetic slice of brilliantly delivered punk attitude with polished guitar tones and festive horn melodies.

It’s not especially common for bands with any sort of punk feel to embrace the refined sounds of celebratory horns or uplifting string sections, but then again this is no common song. The Regrettes offer a non-cheesy Christmas cover that you don’t have to be embarrassed to enjoy.
