Intense pop in Hour 24’s new video

Alt-pop outfit release video for Emergence.

Alternative-pop and semi-metal outfit Hour 24 have just dropped the music video for their latest single Emergence – a fantastically titled track as, for many, this will be the first they hear (and love) from the band.

It’s a music video in the style that was very popular in pop-punk circles a few years ago, bringing together a performance-to-camera style and a dramatically shot narrative. It’s an effective way of not detracting from the song itself too much, as well as keeping in line with the band’s musical influences. As the early Paramore-esque vocal bounces along atop intense guitar riffery and brutal drumbeats that feel a lot like a mix between Rise Against and Blessthefall, it becomes more and more apparent why this style of video was chosen. It just fits.
