Channeling an early Arctic Monkeys sound but with a lot more muscle behind it, Ride by the Light is a solid return to form for a band who disappeared without a trace. The quiet-loud dynamic makes the track sound massive by process of chorus inflation, but even at its most subdued there’s an underlying sense of urgency. Vocalist Dom Noble turns a fierce phrase with laser precision, adding a suave edge to the track as he delivers the vocals with a sinister calmness. They’re back, baby.
