It’s modern indie grooves with a 90s indie wash.
Indie-alt outfit Thoughts have just dropped their newest single, the warped and reverberated groovefest Tuck.
It’s an interesting mix of elements. A husky vocal that verges on angsty grunge delivery, riding begrudgingly atop a guitar line that feels like it was sucked right from Blur’s Modern Life Is Rubbish, structured in a way that can only be contemporary. A steady beat underpins what would otherwise be a chaotic cascade of indie-rock climax, offering some sense of order in the pulsating chaos. Tuck manages to teeter on the frayed edge of collapse for three minutes, basically becoming the musical definition of control and restraint.
