If you’re a fan of the general stylistic shift that The 1975 have recently undergone, you’ll fall in love with singularly named collective Corey Valentine. They’ve just dropped their newest single The Answer, which is available for free download now.

It’s a fantastic slice of vintage synthpop with a modern flair, feeling revivalist as opposed to outdated. Shimmering synths colour a beautiful backdrop as a smooth duet between male and female vocals plays out in the foreground with a stuttered sense of optimism. The whole thing has a sort of dreamlike air about it, which leads the sound to float gently between The 1975 and CHVRCHES while retaining its own identity.
