Daniel Pearson – ‘I Still Believe’

A rousing acoustic storm of optimism

Acousto-pop maestro Daniel Pearson’s latest album ‘Alone, Together’ came out not long ago, and he led into it with fantastic style. The relaxing acoustic-led ‘I Still Believe’ is the perfect introduction to Pearson, if one were needed.

Combining a predominately acoustic sound with his typically earthy vocals and gorgeous string sections that cascade shimmering melodies, ‘I Still Believe’ is five relaxing and upbeat minutes of optimism. What Pearson nails is the importance of lyricism in songs that are dominated by acoustic guitars. The lyrics are the soul of the song and the thing that really draws in the listener: the acoustic sound is commonplace, but a rousing vocal is unbeatable.

If ever a song needed to exist to get you over a rough patch or through a tough time, it’s this one. ‘I Still Believe’ is a charming acousto-pop ballad that sets the tone for ‘Alone, Together’. Pearson couldn’t have chosen a better teaser track.
